We truly appreciate the East Beach Town Architect, Roger Wood. Mr. Wood is volunteering his time and expertise to manage the intricate details of the Homearama color renderings. We are thrilled with the artist’s interpretation of the Charity House and believe it captures the essence of this unique home.

A spa-style master bathroom includes limestone tile, sleek lighting and contemporary plumbing fixtures. Scott has been working very hard today, and he is ready to relax in the soaking tub if someone would please hook up the water to the house!

Cookout in Style

An outdoor kitchen area connects the side and rear courtyards. It will include a built-in natural gas grill, two under counter refrigerators and custom-built cabinetry that will fill the width of this arched wall. Add a dining table and chairs and the outdoor kitchen will be complete.

Take a Seat and Stay a While

The rear courtyard includes a wood burning fireplace and a built-in wall bench. Custom made seat cushions for the bench are in production and will convey with the house. The master bedroom’s cedar balcony brackets can be seen at the top left.

Coffee Break

The private courtyard is coming together nicely. There are several areas to enjoy. A sitting area between the open-air foyer and the pool is perfect for morning coffee and the newspaper. Or, put out a couple of lounge chairs to soak up the southern exposure sunshine. Three water spouts have been plumbed into the wall above the pool to create a tranquil water feature.

The open air foyer as seen from the street provides a view into the courtyard beyond. The main entry to the interior of the house can also be seen along the left wall. The foyer’s wood doors have been stained and will be hung soon.

Scott, Have You Been Playing in the Dirt Again?

Scott spent the day picking up fill dirt and carefully placing it into the courtyard with the dump truck. This will raise the finished grade up a few feet. Once complete there will only be a few inch difference between the interior floor to the patio outside. This avoids the need for steps down from the house to the courtyard. Steps would take away valuable square footage from the outside living area. It will also make the outside living space feel like an extension of the interior living area.

Another Brick in the Wall

The courtyard walls are built with concrete block. The walls are still in progress and have several more feet to go as seen by the rebar extending up from the top edge. These walls will be plastered inside and out to match the house, and they will provide a private atmosphere for the interior courtyard.

Lets Take a Dip in the Pool

Aegean Pools has been very generous in support of the St. Mary’s house, and we are very appreciative of their contribution. Here they work diligently installing the pool’s frame. The perimeter of the pool will be backfilled with concrete for support, and the concrete steps will be installed at the right end where the man in the red shirt is standing.
